zoo tini

Another stop on the Cincinnati death march juggernaut that was the niece/nephew visit.
But who doesn't love a cute and/or baby animal or two? not I surely.
The new entryway is impressive, if confusing.
Historic Vine St entry?
Its a couple months old if I'm not mistaken. But that aside even with the ongoing construction the Cincinnati zoo is something special. I haven't been to the Cleveland and Pittsburgh zoo's for awhile but it rivals them now.
once its finished up, it will have some wow factor, even more than it does now.

  1. I was at the zoo recently and didn't understand the "historic" nature of the new entrance either. Was there formerly a main entrance there? If I remember there was a minor pedestrian entrance/exit, but it was always closed. Hmmm.

  2. No sooner do I post a comment but I stumble upon this on the Cincy Zoo website:
"For the first time in decades, visitors to the Cincinnati Zoo & Botanical Garden will enter the Zoo through the historical 1875 entrance on Vine Street. During the late 1970’s, the entry was moved to the northern edge of the Zoo to accommodate vehicular traffic and has remained there ever since. In an effort to consolidate parking and re-establish Vine Street as the Zoo’s “front door”, the entry will return to its original location on Saturday, May 16!"
