“We live in a time of relentless and accelerating change. Long established conventions in business, economics, medicine, education, science and government are all under assault by this thing we amorphously call technology. What’s going on? And what does it mean for the trusted institutions that once formed the bedrock of our society? How should they change?”
Looking at Google maps I thought for sure everyone would head up Liberty Hill to get to Filson Playground but after awhile I started getting antsy, turns out there were a couple things I didn't know. For one, the first teams were heading up Milton and using alleys I didn't see on map view.
I headed up to the park in time to see the first team pop out of a small alley.

They get a little more creative each year, and the pop references get more obscure since I had to ask about a few of them. Either that or sorry Biebers I'm just not that familiar with what a Bieber looks like. The rain wasn't damping anyone's enthusiasm either, something like 70 teams showed up to compete, some more than others. One thing surprising me is the top competitors had chase vans and scout cars, kind of like the Tour de France they're been doing this a few years now, they're figuring out all the angles.
Tiger and his girlfriends, some of them anyhow.

Except for the Ascent at Roebling has any other residential building gotten the positive press the award winning Parker Flats has? A couple appearances on the news, a music video, just another day at one of the most desirable addresses downtown. There's a 3 second cameo in the middle of the video featuring our condo.

There’s a full scale war going on out there in the streets on Cincinnati.
And we're the winners, because someone always ups the game giving us a better burger.
And since I’m always out eating them its only natural that I get asked what the best Cincinnati burgers are. I knew that I’d need to get around to making a list one day.
Well that day is today.
What prompted it is this, I've been hearing for years about Arthur’s and how good their burgers are. We went the other night with a friend holding an expiring Groupon to see what all the talk was about.
I got the Arthur’s Burger and when it came to the table it sure looked good. But it went downhill from there, although I liked the texture of the burger, I consider it bad when the bun has more flavor then the meat. #fail
OK, that’s it, no more procrastinating onto my official burger list.
What do I judge burgers on? #1 is texture, I like the burger to be just on the verge of falling apart not packed tightly together. Then flavor, it better engage parts of my tongue that usually lie dormant.
Here we go, the best burgers in Cincinnati according to 5chw4r7z.
Tied for first place are Terry's Turf Club and Cafe de Wheels.
If the last place I went was Terry’s then its my favorite,
but the last place I went was Cafe de Wheels, so its my current favorite.
Third place Dilly cafe
Fourth place Rookwood
UPDATE: I was negligent in not mentioning Mayberry, I knew I'd forget one. Tied for fourth with Rookwood.
And Fifth place Senate
There’s a half dozen honorable mentions I could, well, mention.
Local127, Rockbottom and Nicholson’s are up there in the top ten. Pirate Cove and Ludlow Bromley on good days, but they’re really inconsistent so I go there for the atmosphere and hope for the best.
There you go, my list, your milage may vary, past performance does not guarantee future returns, consult a doctor before starting a new burger routine.[where: 45202]best place to learn how to live downtown cincinnati ohio the ethos of Cincinnati

I'm stealing Ed's line here, he may have shocked the world, but not me. After following Ed's blog I'm not surprised that he's finally had an article published in the national mag Slam and his article on Xavier's Tu Holloway broke through into the big time.
Now some people get jealous, or beat down when people they know step up and do something awesome. Not me, I think I get as much joy from friends success as I do my own. It reinforces why I like them in the first place, surrounding myself with fearless risk takers. How else is someone going to stay on their A-game?
Everyone got together last Friday night to get their celebration on at Lunar, a bonus for the party because the place can be a little trippy.
