SUSHI RAMPAGE

Ko-Sho in the Northside opened its doors a few weeks ago and I don't know who started it this week, maybe Jenny but by Wednesday we were all on the sushi rampage bandwagon, it was leaving the station, climb on board or get left behind.

The sushi looked AND tasted like works of art. I didn't know whether to take pictures of it, or eat it.
I did both. Did i meantion it was delishcious?

The eel? awesome, why was I afraid of it?
And the dragon roll? didn't taste anything like dragon as far as I'm concerned.
dragon tastes like chicken
NOT funny Ms. 5chw4r7z, not funny at all.

Verdict.
The sushi is crazy awesome.
The service, iffy, they forgot one of the orders, but they were all new.
The price, if you have to ask you can't afford it. But that said, man was it expensive.

  1. I have yet to try sushi. Looking over the menu, it looks like I can go to this place & continue avoiding the stuff, tho. :-)

  2. Mmmm Sapporo might have been the perfect beer selection for your #sushirampage. Nicely done.

  4. Schw4r7z,

Sounds really good! I'm curious about the sushi that they offer, was it mainly rolls, or do they also offer nigiri & sushimi? Do they also do hot Japanese dishes such as tempura, dumpling or noodle dishes?

  5. OH Boy, you're over my head, this is only the third time I've eaten sushi.
They do have a menu on their website.

  7. Thanks for that link! Nigiri is the most tradition form of sushi, a little ball of rice with a piece of fish on top of it. Sashimi is just the raw fish, cut in artful slices. That's my favourite, but you have to have exceptional quality fish to serve sashimi.

  8. WOW! That place is a serious Japanese restaurant! There are a lot of pan-Asian restaurants that serve maki sushi (rolls) around town these days, but Ko-Sho's menu lists serious Japanese cuisine including Shumai, Yakitori, Sukiyaki, Shabu-Shabu and various noodles dishes. I'm going to dine there this week. I'm tired of having to drive all the way to Florence to eat at a Japanese restaurant (Miyoshi, Jo-An & Matsuya). Thanks for the post 5chw4r7z!

Any place in Northside you would recommend for a postprandial (after dinner cocktail)?

  9. The Northside Tavern is right across the street, that would be my first choice.

And hey! thanks for checking out my blog, its nice to know I'm having a positive impact out there.

We also had something that was a ball of rice with a shrimp on it.
