the night is young
It's become apparent, a phenomena that has been underground until now, that people in Cincinnati do care about fashion. Coming off the most successful Cincinnati Fashion week yet last spring, this fall the city is heading into 12 fashion shows over the next two months according to Nathaniel Hurst, the founder of Cincinnati Fashion Week.
Exciting times for the city and its burgeoning fashion scene.

So it was only a matter of time before the runway stretched all the way to Fountain Square. In connection with MidPoint Inide Summer concert, it cut the square almost in half as models sporting fashion from Fetish Boutique, The Brush Factory and Amy Kirchen Boutique prowled up and back while the Bad Veins wailed away in the background.
The fashion wasn't just contained onstage, the were more than a few stylish spectators too.
This fall is sure to heat up with fashion stuff and the Cincinnati Profile Style and Substance issue will appear in just a few short weeks on Sept 12th. you're not really living, if you're not killing yourself
Whats the meaning of life anyhow? Spam the environment with as many copies of ones self as possible and eliminate competition. Some life thrived some didn't for a billion years or so until now there's almost 7 billion humans on earth. Somewhere along the way, 2 or 5 thousand years ago societies took over the heavy lifting of replicating themselves relieving individuals of the need. Instead of scrambling around burning all its energy on replication, individuals were now free to chase nobler pursuits.
Thinking and talking were chief among these pursuits until recently when wasting time and telling fish stories were included. And smoking cigars. And drinking beer. On the river, sure life could be better, but not much more than that.

fried green tomatos. and a BLT
Been hearing about Otto's fried geen tomoto blt for awhile, just never had a chance to try it. Until now. What Otto's call a B.L.F.G.T lived up to the hype. Mostly. What would have made it better is toasted bread. So other than that it hit the spot.
Relaxing, what really struck me was how comfortable and laid back the place was with an eclectic funky decor.
I liked the perfect sized portions for lunch. Everyone complains about serving getting bigger and bigger. You know whats better, big flavor and presense, a right sized portion I wasn't overstuffed when I finished.
looks like its going to be a good Saturday afternoon stand bye.

fireworks night
excellent timing for a ball game, the Reds stopped the losing skid and are on a tear winning 5 of the last 6 game.
Mr Redlegs, looking baked as usual.
a fireworks night at GABP so it was apropos in the bottom of the 8th, after the Padres walked Votto while up one run to get to Bruce that he would blast the ball out for a 3 run homer.
This little dude was cracking me up all night, nonstop commentary and cheering. He had more baseball knowledge than half the guys sitting around us.
