Dogfish Head Beer Tasting

The big draw at The Lackman, the Aprihop seasonal beer from Dogfish Head which was running through a filter stuffed full of additional hops. I'm not a brewmaster, does this work or is it just a gimmic?

A cool discussion with a homebrewer at the bar and how eager everyone is with sharing information. The head brew-master from the Stone Brewery at their event gave him some tips for his black IPA that had fantastic results.
I love it, open source beer!

Cincinnati Imports

I love this time of year, a warm day, everyone is smiling and happy and freindly. Mojojacob picked me up from work and cruising down Vine St we see The Boilover exiting Parvis Lofts, which are looking awesome by the way. Anyhow, Mojo's beeping I'm waving, yeah nutso spring weather. Swinging around its Grabity and GoMariago on Central walking the dog. Holla, man I love city living. Cincinnati is getting to be the smallest neighborhood in the world. #11 in the country in Social Media usgae, so that has something to do with it.
Then Mojo, Ms 5chw4r7z and I carried on to MOTR and Cincinnati Imports
LOL, there were a couple people there that saw my tweets about Imports and rushed down, Import beer? hell yeah!

I always feel guilty not being productive on Sundays, but I guess I should turn it off every once in a while and try and enjoy it.
A birds eye view of OTR/CBD offers an oppurtunity to stop and smell the roses.

Did they have pets in the movie Matrix?
If they did, Sid may have been one of them. Wacky cat, we have hardwood floors, not the best traction for a cat flying around the place at 20mph or however fast he's going. Somehow after sliding into the wall countless times he realized instead of slowing down he needed to accelerate towards the wall, jump, take a few strides across it and leap off. White walls drive a camera mad and its hard to judge scale but these tracks go 3' up the wall.
Do they make cat repellent paint?

St. Patrick’s on Fountain Sqaure

I can't remember a St Pat's on the Square this nice, most of my memories are cold rain huddled in a heated tent. This year was different, mild with clear skies. What an awesome time.

Was I the only one surprised by the census results?
Cincinnati's population is down 10% over the last decade?
I looked at Ms. 5chw4r7z and said all that tells me is that the most boring 10% bailed for somewhere less exciting. Sure enough, the first story I heard was an interview of a lady from Oakley who moved to West Chester where its "quieter"
HA! I bet, nothing ever happens there to overstimulate the sensibilities.
Except for the odd gas station shooting.

People acuse me of saying everyone should live downtown, but its not for everyone and not everyone should live downtown. And for you hairsplitters out there working the CBD vs. OTR angle, there is a difference but its all walkable so who really cares, we're all fighting the same fight.

But I will say this and stand by it, The number of sophisticated, demanding, super-wired consumers snapping up ‘daring’ goods, services, experiences, campaigns and conversations are packed more densely in the core than anywhere else. The culture and identity of Cincinnati starts in the core and flows outward.
Sorry, but you guys sitting on your couch in the xburbs aren't setting the world on fire.

I personally know two dozen people who have moved down here over the last year, wonder how many have made the jump that I don't know about? I had the opportunity to see one of the newer (rehabbed) places in OTR last week. Diamond Dave Living in Gin, maybe he won't appreciate being associated with my rant so the opinions expressed are purely my own.
I love all the exposed brick, the next place I move is going to be like this.
