Parker Flats Friday

The first BIG party of the season on the tweetdeck and it was a good one.
I'm still amazed at the people who don't know each other, I always take it for granted if I know someone everyone does.
Last Saturday I felt like George W. the Great Uniter!
I was making connections, I was connectualizing. I connectulated a great many people together.

Molly Wellmann was mixing up some epic drinks, and dropping mixology knowledge. She's a main event all by herself.

Cinco de Mayo

We you out celebrating Cinco de Mayo last night?
Trick question, of course you were, because we ran into everyone last night.
Fountain Square was packed, Nada was jammed, Cadillac and everywhere else we passed.
But Nada was where it was at for sure.

Joe, Tupe Jill? and Jenny.

Outside, rip

Creative destruction can be a good thing. Public spaces rebuilt to be more attractive to visitors. Restaurants replace retail, parks spring up reborn. Transit is rethought. Its all good. Until someone you know falls victim to it.

By this measure Terry from Outside is a very rich man indeed. Unfortunately that doesn't pay the bills and Outside fell victim the economy.
Well he went out with a bang Friday night with a blowout Cinco de Mayo themed party to thank everyone for their support and to allow us to thank him for providing us with really cool options for our outside spaces.



The place looked really sad all cleaned out.


I'm sure he'll popup somewhere else, stronger and wiser from the experience. The Q will be just a little quieter without Outside.

UrbanCincy Visual Showcase

UrbanCincy's first forray (I think) into a multi-media presentation of Cincinnati's urban core.
From Jake Mecklenborg's time lapse video, at 600 mph of his bike ride from Fountain Square to the State House in Columbus, and a pictoral highlight of the Cincinnati subway to prints of Allister Sears cityscapes, we had some unique perspectives on Cincinnati.




There was a good crowd all evening viewing the exibition, but if I could say one thing, the show was completely swallowed up in the space, other than that everyone enjoyed the photos and talking to Jake and Allister, a nice show and easy scene all evening. Everytime we walked past I saw someone else I knew and had to pop back in again.
Its like that in OTR.

Final Friday

After a quiet Final Friday in March, April's began wall to wall people, a warm night and the buzz in the Q was palatable.
I don't want to blow your mind or anything but there is alot going on Final Friday, too much. We're not even scratching the surface anymore, its crazy.
First stop is THE stop, Cafe de Wheels. Wasn't my interntion to ruffle feathers a week or so ago with my burger salvation post, I'd give Cafe de Wheels a solid #2 for best burger in Cincinnati.

Carolyn at Mica/12v, with more time after closing the other location has gotten back into art, she was ecstatic as she explained the found sheet music in her current art display.

Flying Pig

Was it wet Sunday morning?
was it wet?? do pigs fly?
A mansoon flew into downtown ahead of the start of the race, the only thing the umbrella kept dry was my head. The rain scared off all the wild costumes too, but it was still interesting watching everyone run past, 18,000 still braved the weather to run.

16.21! that first guy hit the 3 mile maker running just over 5 minute miles.





This is about as close to a costume as we got.
