Obama on Fountain Square

Some thoughts,
He made sense on about 66% of his ideas which is the sum total of Gore and Kerry put together.
But I disagree with him on education and big business.
He wants CEOs to worry more about workers and consumers than the bottom line?
Won't market forces do that?
Do we really need to screw up capitalism, the one thing we haven't totally f'd up yet?
But I did like a lot of things he said about equality, maybe he could effect change.
What if he could?
Don't know, but I don't get a feeling of dread from him like I did Kerry.

Mad Tea Party

You can't get a feel from my pictures just how many people were there Friday night. We thought we were just going to hop in and out real quick but kept running into more friends as we tried to make our way out, hours later it seems we made a quick escape. Nick had a good night its seems, shame it is one of the last nights before he closes for good.

Soul and R&B Live on the Square

Outside of and maybe even including Taste and Ocktober, this is the most people I've seen on Fountain square.
I liked the idea of these way finder decals, there's been times in the past I've come across people walking the wrong way on Elm or Plum looking for Fountain Square.

After I took the picture, theres one guy laughing and pointing at someone else kinda like "in your face!" then I noticed the Z4 with the top down. But it is coming around. I thought this was interesting outside of Al Neyer on McFarland, the bikes reminded me a little of Chicago last fall. Just a little as it still doesn't compare. But with the gas prices who knows, one day...

SUNDAY SUNDAE on Friday

I realize this is old news now, but we had a good time last weekend.
The church across Elm St from Piatt Park had an ice cream social in the park, the only thing better than ice cream is free ice cream.

Horses love ice cream.

Thought that guy was going to rampage through the place after he got a taste, he was dragging the police officer all over the place.

Trio for Mary's birthday

I had high hopes for Trio as we made our way up to celebrate Mary's birthday, the sweetest person we know in Cincinnati. Trio's ambiance is warm and inviting and the service not bad. I had noticed that their online menu had no prices and I soon discovered why, they are expensive. I've had a taste for a good fillet so thats what I ordered, $30. I imagined for that price it was going to melt in my mouth, something like a Ruby's steak which is in the same price range. The presentation was good, but there was little flavor.
Very disappointing.
I can imagine for someone who's idea of going out to eat on a Friday night means McyD's, this would probably be a real treat.
But Jean-Robert has ruined me for anything less than exceptional.
Just so the review isn't totally negative, the deserts were good, if expensive.

Saturday Night drive-in @ Fountain Square

Have you been to Fountain Square for a movie yet?
If not what are you waiting for? You need to go at least once and check it out.
But be warned, bring a chair because these things are standing room only.
A snack bar, a beer cart and fresh air, what more do you need? For some reason, it seems like they really, really want you to hit the snack bar.
Oh yeah, bride and groom who walked through, which happens every Saturday evening (different couples not the same ones) buddy, you have no excuse to forget your anniversary.
Ever.
I won't back you up on it if you do.
And staggering on our way out, there's two pizza joints open now right on the back home.

All these movies are so political anymore, Independence Day, lets see a fighter pilot who becomes president and then saves the world.
Who could that possibly be?
