Park+Vine

Cruising through Park+Vine the other day, they have a ton of new stuff in. Don't know if its the weather or if I've been busy but I haven't been to The Q forever, George at Metronation probably forgets what I look like. I'm not avoiding ya I swear.

Rush for prez

The story on Rush Limbaugh in the NY Times magazine was an interesting read. When asked what his own presidential agenda would look like Rush answered;

1. Open the continental shelf to drilling. Ditto the Arctic National Wildlife Refuge.
2. Establish a 17 percent flat tax.
3. Privatize Social Security.
4. Give parents school vouchers to break the monopoly of public education.
5. Revoke Jimmy Carter’s passport while he is out of the country.
6. Abandon all government policies based on the hoax of man-made global warming.

4th of July on Fountain Square

Weather, it certainly didn't co-operate this past weekend, all the planning squashed, but new plans quickly formulated and fun times had anyways. How can you not have fun in Cincinnati? You really have to go out of your way to pull that off. The Northside parade, in the rain was a complete h00t, we're doing this from now on. The first picture attempted and the camera gave a battery warning and deflated like a balloon. I can't begin to describe it so if you weren't there...
I still managed to see a half dozen people I know.
After tiring of walking around soaked, we headed back downtown and the rain cleared off so we went down to Fountain Square and there was tons of entertainment both professional and not.

I normally consider this comfort food, but after the rainy weekend we had I was really in the mood for it today.
Besides, its easy to make but looks and tastes like you've slaved over it. Well, maybe it doesn't look so much like it, but it sure tastes good.

The internet chatter is abuzz with talk of Starbucks shuttering 600 underperforming stores and I remembered I had a gift card left from Christmas. Nows the time to use it, can you believe I actually have to walk four blocks to Starbucks?

Crazy right, I better support them now, if they close I'll have to walk another 2 blocks.

The Wind Studies Library

I need to preface this by saying I've just finished chugging through the 7 Harry Potter books, which I might add were very good.
But as I walked past the Wind Studies Library my imagination kicked in and I started thinking about how cool this library would be in Harry's world.
On a gloomy day it would be nice to pull down the tome of Summer and open it to the chapter of soft breezes and as the pages gently fluttered you'd feel a nice warm wind maybe with hints of freshly mown lawns.
After a particularly strenuous workout, the hardback on blustery October evenings would be perfect.
Having a confrontational exchange? The manuscript of August thunderstorms would be just whats called for.
Whatever you do in here, don't knock over a stack of books, could be very bad.

Not too sure about all those reports about people staying home because of high gas prices.
The highways seemed to have just as much traffic as ever. I wonder how high it needs to get before I can make the trip from Akron to Cincinnati without touching the cruise? Saturday morning i was getting frustrated with other drivers by mile 17, only 212 to go.
I'm not totally exhausted from this trip like I am sometimes, is being in better shape good for traveling too?
