Holiday Condo Tour

Six different condo's downtown were open for tours last night and the take away from the three we went through was bricks and views. If we ever move a brick wall will be one of our must haves. After that what really stuck out were window treatments. I'm not in the business but cloth curtains? Didn't feel right to me. And since it was a holiday tour I was expecting holiday decorations. None unless you count Christmas cookies, I've eaten my body weight in Christmas cookies this week.

Fourteenth + Vine

After seeing the incredible Rookwood finishes of the Mottainai and Lackman Lofts, I was disappointed in the Fourteenth + Vine project. The amazing Rookwood foyer did nothing but fan the flames of anticipation to see the condos inside and while the spaces were dramatic, I was let down by the boring kitchens and baths. Of course, keep in mind I'm writing this with all the narcissism that comes from living in the flamboyantly glassed award winning Parker Flats, so please take my criticisms with a grain of salt.

The condos in OTR all have the money views. The lady walking back inside from the deck who told me, nothing to see out there,
Really? this isn't an incredible view?
Really?

UPDATE: No sooner do I mention the Mottainai and they win an award.
Mottainai was named “Best Residence under 3,500 square feet” in Cincinnati Magazine’s 7th Annual Interior Design Competition. Award winners were announced Saturday, September 26, 2009 at a breakfast held at the Cincinnati Museum Center at Union Terminal.

The Cincinnati Magazine Interior Design Competition honors outstanding and innovative residential and commercial interior design in Cincinnati, Dayton and Northern Kentucky. Winners were selected by a panel of design professionals based in Indianapolis.

Parker Flats Penthouse

MED announced yesterday the addition of two penthouse untis to Paker Flats. This set off a firestorm of emails last night. Its has been confirmed that they are going on the roof, so what ever plans we had up there are over.
Take a very deep breath and then let it go. Someone with more money is always going trump what you or I want to do.
Cez't La Vie!
I'm taking comfort in the fact that MED has apparently done something right and the rendering at least looks awesome, it will definitely looks much better than the flat roof does and I like how its shape mimics the Convention Center a block away. Unsure of exactly what Post Modern is?
There you go, the design reflects and is sensitive to its environment.
If you have 750 large, there is still one available.

The Edgecliff

We (Steve, Jackie and I) went to the International Holiday - Food from Around the World @ The Edgecliff last night. It wasn't quite what I was expecting, I thought a happy hour type thing but actually it was an open house for the condos they had available. But I was glad I went for one big reason, Skillman design, who is remodeling our bathrooms at Parker Flats did the baths in two of the units and I loved them.

We were on the 17th floor I think and this TV was big enough for me know they were watching basketball. But not big enough to know the teams.

I don't know why the other people wandering around looked at us like we were dorks or something.
Love that faucet.
