What is the Urban Basin Bicycle Club?
The Urban Basin Bicycle Club meets at Queen City Radio (at 12th and Central) every Tuesday at 6:45. The rides are themed, meaning every ride is different and takes in different parts of the city. No special bike, clothes or equipment are needed, pump up the tires, jump on your creaky bike and head downtown.
If you need a better description of the typical ride, the write-up for tonight's sums up most rides "urban, chatty, with gobs of stops and disembarking; if you prefer long stretches of uninterrupted bike riding where you break out in a sweat, then you're going to really hate this ride "

Walk on Woodburn, held in East Walnut hills in conjunction with every Manifest Gallery art opening highlights all the shops along Woodburn Ave. The street's businesses, restaurants, galleries, and brewery are staying open late for a night of mingling, dinner, drinks, fine art, and conversation.
For the Welcome Home Exhibition Opening at the Ledge Gallery Maya Drozdz quoted Bill Bryson, "... the places in which we have experienced daydreaming reconstitute themselves in a new daydream..." And said the installation was a recreation of her former apartment. This to me was an interesting statement because I don't imagine her this formal. But you never know.

The bike show, Hosted by UC Bike Kitchen and UC|sustainability, is always one of my favorite events. This year they moved it 2 weeks later for warmer weather and held it outside. The bike show is always good excuse to hang out and shoot the sh*t with a bunch of other like minded cyclists. And there were all kinds of bikes to peruse, track bikes, tandems, commuters and e-bikes. There was something for everyone. You couldn't ask for a better place to hang out, smack in the middle of U.C.'s west campus surrounded by green space and amazing architecture.
Revel OTR is the second boutique wine maker to recently open in OTR. We stopped in to check it out and ended up talking to one of the co-owners Anthony Maieron. Mr. Maieron told us about when he was younger his dad always made wine, then would have friends over to hang out and drink it. He said he always thought that was so cool and wanted to make wine someday.
After leaving Cincinnati for college then returning home, Maieron's father handed the wine making duties down to him. After making wine for over 10 years, and enjoying it, Anthony and his wife Jodie joined friends John and Amy Coleman to create and open Revel OTR.
Along with a first floor bar there is a second floor event space and a soon to open rooftop deck with dramatic views of OTR. Maieron took great pride in the sweat equity he and his partners have put into the place while showing us around.
