OTR is in the running to win a national preservation competition and $25,000 in grants. Out of 100 places in the competition, OTR is in the top three with The Breakers in Newport, RI and the Dreamland Theatre in Little Rock as its top competitors. Voting ends at the end of the day tomorrow.
OTR is only a few buildings away from losing 50% of its valuable stock and the money along with leadership from the National Trust for Historic Preservation will go a long way in planning to save whats left of the neighborhood, an area containing more such buildings than New Orleans and is larger than Charleston's world-renowned historic district.
What does this have to do with me and you?
OTR needs your help in voting, please click here, register and then vote for OTR. I know your time is valuable and registering and voting takes a few minutes, but its a few minutes to save the largest collection of historic places there is anywhere.
Voting ends at midnight 5pm June 30th don't delay.
Thank you![where: 45202]best place to learn how to live downtown cincinnati ohio the ethos of Cincinnati

I had forgotten just how much campfires and drinking go together. They go together like two very complimentary things. Plus a perfect evening for hanging outside. Once I got over being cranky for having to get in a car I settled in and had good time.
Some guys are overly photogenic. I hate these guys.

Not just craft cocktails but coffee too!
Sure Monday morning at the office you only have the energy to scoop Folgers into the coffee maker, but just like mixed drinks we're too sophisticated to endure that when we go out.
Enter some Frankenstein level brewing equipment for your coffee. Burners, evaporation tubes and Tesla coils.
I might be joking about the Tesla coils.
Maybe.
Any rate, Bob Bonder, of Tazza Mia fame. Bob who is to coffee what Jean-François is to waffles. he's popping up everywhere these days is helping setup and operate the high end coffee shop in the back of Japps Since 1879.
So the question is, will locally roasted gourmet coffee brewed up in one of these high end devices provide a good cup of coffee?
ARE YOU CRAZY?? Hell yeah it does.

No, I'm sure they didn't invent drinking in OTR, but it sure seems like it sometimes. And not the binge type drinking, I'm talking drinking and enjoying the best micro brews, wines and cocktails the city has to offer.
And the word is getting out, the bars in OTR are seemingly more crowded every weekend so it was only a matter of time before the next unique bar opened.
Tonight is the grand opening of Japps Since 1879, I wouldn't wait too long to get there, this is going to be huge.
Craft cocktails, wine and a good beer selection plus a cool space utilizing all the found object in the basement covering 130 years of Japp's history. Old light fixtures, cabinets and all the other odds and ends that found their way to the basement.
The raison d'être, a home for vagabond Molly Wellmann.
