You can get a ride for $50 out at Lunken Field. It is a 1939 passenger plane.
Billywayne...I thought it was from 1929.From what I understand, they were flying out of Lunken all weekend to try both to show off the plane (make money) and to raise awareness of the goal of bringing passenger service back to the airport.
Guess I should look through the Enquirer once in awhile, but its not worth the $1.50
Looks like the link was too long.Go to http://www.airliners.net/ and type in the the plane's FAA number nc8407 for the photos. It is a 1929 Ford Trimotor transport plane. Pretty freakin sweet.
Here's an update with photos:http://www.daytondailynews.com/o/content/shared-gen/blogs/dayton/flydayton/entries/2008/06/23/ford_trimotor_arrives.html
Kary and I took a ride on that plane when it was at Lunken. Here are some photos of what it looks like above our fine city:http://benjaminbaker.com/gallery/album34?page=1Sorry for the very late comment ;)-Ben
