A discussion began online over which church in Cincinnati had the tallest spire. Surprisingly we couldn't find much on google except for a few tidbits. St. Francis De Sales' spire is 230ft. It also houses the largest church bell in the United States and the largest swinging bell ever cast in this country. Called "Big Joe" it was only rung once because the massive bell's E-Flat peal was so loud it shattered windows and shook the surrounding buildings.
So if you know the tallest church spire in Cincinnati let me know.

Walk on Woodburn

Walk on Woodburn this month saw the doors to St Francis de sales and the Bank Building at Woodburn and Madison opened. The bank Building is screaming for a restaurant, it will be a dramatic one. The developers say they are being selective and want one with a good fit for the neighborhood.
Those two buildings plus everything else made for a pretty cool night on Woodburn Ave.

MEMORY PALACE at the CAC

CAC TV! is half game show, half educational and half crazy. If you have friends that are artists you'll instantly know what was probably going to happen when Pam invited Ms 5chw4r7z and I to participate. Ms 5chw4r7z was a little apprehensive about it. I always under think everything so I had no idea what to expect. Not only that, I never stopped to wonder or worry about what was going to happen. You'll just have to scroll down to the bottom to find out what happened.

You see those signs everywhere, the silhouette of a skateboarder with the red slash through it. I always thought that was off because they tend to gravitae to spots no one else thought to use. And then what happens, once people start seeing life in a new place they start getting pulled there too. Until it hits a critical mass of course when the skateboarders are chased away to the next place. If there isn't a college course in urban studies that looks at skateboarders maybe there should be.

Once upon a time I met everyone I know through twitter or blogging. I never stopped to think about the fact that twitter would peak. It doesn't seem quite as lively as it used to. The thing is I've noticed more and more that instagram isn't just a place to post pictures. New users are using it like we use twitter, conversation and relationship building. It crept up on me slowly but all the sudden all the new people I'm meeting are through instagram.
The one caveat to that would be the relationships aren't as deeply formed as they were on twitter. That and maybe the people on instagram have a narrower range of things in common, mainly we all like photography. Twitter was more community building and broader interests, and obviouslyit was easier to share stories and links on twitter.
Not to take anything away from the really cool people I have met lately on instagram.
