last one of the year I think, the crowd was thin but Naked Karate Girls were playing so whats not to like.
kind of funny too with this being oktoberfest month that you had two types of beer to chose from, bud or bud light.
least it was a good night for the band and people watching.

Neons Unplugged

Amazing what a cool evening does to everyone's attitude isn't it? All smiles and more relaxed and actually out for that matter, seems like I saw almost everybody Saturday night, people I hadn't seen for ages.
Never thought of having pizza delivered to a bar before, Classicgrrl had two brought in, damn good idea.
Me? I busted out a tie, can't remember the last time I had one on, you know, among the t-shirt/blue jean uniforms it feels rebellious wearing one these days.

Riverfest 2010

Unexpected is good, unplanned for and flexibility are completely nessasary to having a good time, and its funny how often being forced to take a detour leads to adventure and an even more enjoyable experience.
Our usual vantage point for fireworks, the plaza at PBS was closed, funny since the tax payers of Hamilton County paid for it, I guess Mike Brown couldn't figure out how to charge us for it again so he just closed it off with guards. Hey no big deal I said, lets invade the hobo camp under Roebling, so that's what we did. Turns out they didn't have the best spot either so we worked our way upstream until we found a decent spot to watch.

beer me. please

I'm not going to get in the habit of doing this but, I like drinking beer and since I don't think they'll let us serve ourselves I need you to volunteer to serve me beer.
Well not just me, but everyone on the Square.

Volunteers are needed for the Cincinnati Beer Fest, taking place on Fountain Square September 10-12, 2010. Volunteers will pour samples sizes of beer into reusable cups. Other volunteer roles include wristbands and security.

Volunteers receive free onsite parking, a ticket good for four tastes or one full drink before or after your shift, and training (a one-sheet the week of the event and on-site training at the start of each shift.) Volunteers should be 21 & older, please.

Found a new toy, some software really that makes me want to go splash a ton of gwap around for a tilt-shift lens. I've been testing the software out on various pictures and gotten some impressive results I think. A few Parker Flats pics and a bonus GABP and Fountain Square shot.

Ice Cream Daydream

The dedication for Artworks newest mural "Ice Cream Daydream" lead by Amanda Checco, included music, hobnobbing and real ice cream from an ice cream truck. How cool is that? Pretty cool.
The harsh evening light didn't help much picture wise so you'll have to get down there and check it out yourself. Its located at 12th & Jackson, at a right angle to the Know Theatre.

Bellvue Bistro

Ever since the Friday Shop Bellevue a month ago we've talked about getting back over to try out the Bellevue Bistro. We biked over early Saturday, a short hop from downtown and a very easy ride. First thought when taking a taste? why the hell isn't everyone talking about this place? The rosemary potatoe exploded in my mouth with flavor. I just can't believe food this good isn't talked about more. Just goes to show you location is everything.
If this was the Northside or Clifton it would have a cult following and maybe it does, just not in the circles I run. I have to admit, my Kentucky connections aren't anywhere near my Cincinnati ones.
Saturday morning people watching as we ate was interesting, if I didn't know better it could be Mt Lookout except for the occasional jacked up, bumperless pickup cruising through.
