I looked dubiously at the line outside the door, “no don’t think so, I’m not standing in line”
I’ll come around and tell them Jesus in a plaid shirt is coming and they’ll let you right in.
Nope.
But you know half the people in here.
Yeah it the other half I’m worried about, drunken line-standers bumping into me.
But you stand in lines everywhere else.
For instance?
The bathroom.
Are you kidding me, guys never have a line but don’t tell me you stand in line for those nasty overflowing toilets in Sully’s? You know you could walk 4 doors down to Rockin Robins right?
But then I’d have to wait in line to get back in.
Thanks for making my point Twist has bathrooms nicer than my office, sometimes, I don’t even have to go I just like to walk in there and look around.
Ok, you have to wait at the bar for a drink.
Nope, walk in and sit down and a young girl in a clingy shear dress hands me an OTR Ale and asks Ms. 5chw4r7z what wine she’s drinking tonight.
But don't you sometimes like doing what everyone else is doing?
No, I just enjoy a quiet stylish place I can have an intelligent conversation.

we all got burgers because we're just that original

it was a little drizzly out when we went but still after the winter, we couldn't bear to go inside when we could sit out and shiver. Jackie was having big table envy as we were seated at a round table against the building. Its all good though we were out of the breeze more. The prom girls were out in full force having pictures taken in front of the Fountain including one girl in a neon orange number that seared our retina's from across the square, she wouldn't have been out of place waving a flag on a road crew.

Jackie's last supper

Well she's not actually leaving until tomorrow but it was easier to get everyone together to send her off. Ms. 5chw4r7z, Mary, Steve, Drew, Blake and me. I don't know if its me or not, but Lavomatic is the one place I never noticed time passing, it is so easy to hang out there talking and eating. Haven't got out of there in under two hours yet.
I'm going to miss her, she's had a big impact on my online life and seeing the internet and social networks in a whole new way.
Yesterday afternoon I was sitting out on the deck and it hit me, my life has evolved into one of the data networks I manage. I have all the physical connections of the people around me in Cincinnati. But I also have a whole group of logical connections, sort of a VLAN if you will, where I'm connected to a whole web of people who could live in Cincinnati or anywhere really. An interesting idea I think for how my relationships have changed over the last year. So in a way, she's leaving, but she won't be gone. I hope she doesn't forget us little people here in Ohio once she's out west, something tells me she won't.

I found out the Flying Pig was coming down 7th street right past the Gramercy so what the heck, we got up to see what all the fuss was about, hey, this looks like kind of a big deal, glad I got up. Everyone screaming banging drums, screaming and waving. Next year I'm getting some cow bells and air horns, that should liven up downtown.

living within your means, tough credit and investing your stimulus package

Nasty, Brutish and Short had some interesting observations on people living within their means after the NY Times ran a story about the real estate crisis forcing people to do just this. Reinforces my opinion of how we're creating an entitlement based society. Seems like only yesterday everyone was wringing their hands over how expensive housing was and the lower income people were getting squeezed out. Now that housing is affordable again, everyone is hand wringing over the low house prices.

The Washington Post reports three federal agencies will announce today a set of new regulations on the credit card industry that could put an end to some of the sector's most criticized practices. The credit card industry unsurprisingly states " it would make credit more scarce" Uh, thats a bad thing? Isn't easy credit getting some people into trouble in the first place?

No doubt you've been bombarded from every angle about what to do with the money from your share of the stimulus package, what should you buy, should you save, etc.etc. I think most people will pay a bill there fore do absolutely nothing for the economy. If you want my advice, invest it. And I just happen to have a hot tip for you.

4th Street has been undergoing rapid changes over about the last month. Two new galleries have opened and now work is happening in another store front across from bang! that looks to be a clothing store, unheardof.
Never heard of it before.

PROJECT Ballet

The Cincinnati Ballet's latest webisode of "PROJECT Ballet" premiered yesterday evening following a performance by the Xavier University Concert Choir. The crowd was thin by Fountain Square standards I thought but the quality of the people more than made up for the quantity. We even rubbed shoulders with some dancers, yeah I know, but it wasn't all as glamorous as it sounds.
Boy, they need to retire that beer cart and get a new one, its starting to show its age.
The girl with the scarf and purse is the dancer in the next picture down, every time she saw herself she would laugh and clap, it was really cute.
Even her posture screams dancer to me.
