Cincinnati Streetcar

Remember back in early 2012 when Duke Energy basically held the streetcar hostage for months trying extort money out of the city? They had two claims, one that they weren't responsible for the cost of moving their utilities and the second was that manholes had to be eight feet from the tracks.
Its interesting that since they have no chance of winning the suit they brought against the city and moving the utilities will be done on their dime that all the sudden its OK to have the manholes in between the tracks.
Just like they do in every other city.
Hat tip to Jake Mecklenborg for pointing this out.

  1. I asked one of the Prus finishers about this. He said it had to do with sewer access.
