Parker Flats Friday

Now we're getting into my favorite time of yeat at Parker Flats, tailgate season! Parties are the raison d'ĂȘtre. Sunday, hot and humid until that storm rolled through the air dried right out. You shouldn't take too much from preseason games so it cracked me up, viewer comments on the news, a lady complaining about how bad the game was. Two points here, who was the brain surgeon that decided that we give a crap what other people think of the news. If intelligent people would weight in it would be one thing but unfortunately its the people with nothing else going on in their lives and have nothing to say. Number two, what didn't she understand about pre season? We're watching a bunch of guys who won't make our team play a bunch of other guys who won't make their team.
So, much like the Bengals figuring out how they're gonna play this season, we're game planning our upcoming tailgates.

I got all excited about the Goodyear blimp for a second. Until I realized it was the DirectTV blimp, not the same at all.

  1. I whole heartedly agree with what you said about the comments section on news stories. So often it just seems to be rants of opinions that ignore the facts of the story or just "trolling". I have long since given up reading the comments sections of news stories, particularly in local news sources. It is like Jim Rome says, every internet comment forum eventually degrades somehow, usually in very few post to either "That's not real, only an idiot would beleive this, " or racial rants.

  2. Local news needs to better understand the Jerry Springer effect. Unfortunately, I think they purposefully cater to that crowd.

I freaked out when the blimp did a dive over the city. A huge gust of wind whipped past the door and right after I saw the blimp dive behind Carew Tower. It did not help that a siren went off shortly after.
