Look Here! Early season UBBC ride

A warmer than normal Tuesday evening in mid-March had everyone jumping at the chance for a preseason Urban Basin Bicycle Club ride. About 25 people appeared like clockwork on Fountain Square to explore OTR and the Look Here! exhibit.
What is Look Here!? Look Here! is a site-specific, outdoor, public history exhibition of Cincinnati’s Over-the-Rhine neighborhood. The exhibition includes historic photographs of Over-the-Rhine ranging in time from the late nineteenth century through the 1940s. It was surprising, to me at least, to realize that in many locations there were originally old wooden buildings. Those buildings were tore torn for new (now old) brick buildings. Seeing an old picture juxtapositioned with the current streetscape is pretty cool. The one disappointment is apparently the project curator Anne Steinert wasn't allowed by the city to use a durable media so some signs are broken or even missing in a few places. If you want to check out these photos in person the is a map of them located HERE.
What is the Urban Basin Bicycle Club? Every Tuesday at 6:45 UBBC leaves Fountain Square for a ride around the urban basin. There themed rides and they usually end at a local bar for refreshments. No special bike, clothes or equipment is needed, pump up the tires, jump on your creaky bike and head downtown.
