199C: House of Cards edition

If people have one complaint for me, its that I never tell anyone about upcoming events. Well, for those people and everyone else who loves art or loves baseball I have some exciting news to share..
Covington based BLDG is hosting their annual 199C Reds/art party. 199C draws its name from the Pantone color for the Reds and is a collaborative art experience celebrating two great achievements: Baseball and the Reds. The show will take place at 30 W Pike St in Covington on April 2 from 7 - 11pm.
Over 50 artists were given a baseball card featuring a former or current Reds player and they used those cards as inspiration for their unique art. The exciting part for me, exciting and a little scary, I will have art on display in the form of digital Polaroids. The scary part is I've been a fan of most of these artists forever. Matthew Dayler, Tony Dotson, Kevin T. Kelly, Pam Kravetz, Jason Snell and Jenny Ustick. These guys are all heavy weights in the art world.

The 199C party at BLDG won't be the only thing happening though, the whole street will have events that night.
Sydney Kay Customs will debut a Pete Rose Sneaker Collaboration. ‘Vans Era Charlie Hustle’ a limited edition of 10 pairs will be exclusively available at BLDG during 199C. These limited edition shoes will feature vintage sport era Vans.
The Mitchell Bat Co. will have a series of five hand-painted heritage bats honoring the five World Series Championships won by the Cincinnati Reds.
My neighbors on 4th St, UnheardOf, will launch a unique retail experience on Pike St. featuring three limited edition 90s pop culture Reds t-shirts, a new Unheardof collective screen print poster and baseball card.
All the shops on the street will have extended hours and the dress that will be worn for the singing of the Reds Opening Day national anthem will be on display.
From 6-7:30pm Jerry Springer will be hosting a podcast and I've heard some Reds personalities are expected to make an appearance.
All that activity is going to work up an appetite, Braxton brewing will be serving beer and Chicago Don’s Hot Dawgs, Gomez Salsa, Grateful Grahams, Marty’s Waffles and Street Chef Brigade will all be serving food.
I can't wait, I hope to see you there and in the mean time here are some pictures from last years event.
