daytrippin through Columbus

We got to spend a cold Sunday afternoon tromping around OSU a couple Sundays ago when we got an invite to a photowalk at the The Wexner Center for the Arts on The Ohio State University's campus. Driving up to Columbus to spend an hour or so in a museum didn't make much sense so we decided to make a day of it. A few blocks away I spotted Ethyl and Tank. I love these quirky little places so we dropped in for breakfast. It was priced reasonably and we got exactly what we paid for. If you've ever eaten at Hang Over Easy, Ethyl and Tank was along those lines. Just what you want and nothing pretentious.

The Wexler was amazing with Noah Purifoy: Junk Dada whose artwork was fabricated exclusively from found objects. If you are thinking it is odd that a museum let us roam around taking pictures you're right. It is unusual but attitudes are slowly changing. The thing is, taking pictures of art is kind of boring so I spent my time taking pictures of people interacting with art or their surroundings.

Heading out after a day of shooting I was completely drawn in by the sugar skulls on Condado, a Mexican place on High Street. Ever wonder what happened to Barrio in Northside? The chef moved to Columbus and open Condado. The place is amazing and if you've ever ordered food from Gomez you'll instantly feel at home here filling in the card for your order.
