52breakfasts
It seems like 52breakfasts should have been into the meat of the schedule by now but looking at the calendar this is only Sunday #4. A warm rainy Sunday morning in contrast to the very cold dry Sunday a few weeks ago. Its a bitter pill to swallow, but we're going to have a couple more months of cold and snow aren't we?
Our merry band of deipnosophist had a dynamic makeup leading into Sunday seemingly changing every day and sometimes by the hour, which in the end turned into a small group with 5 of us decending on Take the Cake.
Something I wasn't sure about the first time I went but I now think the coolest idea ever and really appreciate about Take the Cake are the two long communal tables, allowing our group to swell as freinds began trickling in, they were able to sit with us, no way that could have been recreated with booths.
As for an incredible breakfast, you can't go wrong and no matter what you order you'll end up with high quality food combined in the most creative and flavorable ways.
Before I even begin to think about food though, the most important part of breakfast will always be coffee, to me during the week coffee is swill but on the weekends, coffee, glorius nectar of the gods coffee is taken to new realms and I become the coffee snob of doom.
But with Take the Cakes coffee locally roasted next door, there are no worries, "help yourself" James said, a challenge I did not take lightly!
So as far as this week goes: mission accomplished.
Now the bad news: someone has to do it all over again next week. We'll be out of town, but our streak of hitting the best breakfast spots is probably coming to an end, Debba informs us we're also going with her to the neighborhood of Fey Apartments and one or two other non-perfered places.
Its gonna get interesting peoples.

I went to TTC on a cloudy sort of day too and pictures turned out kinda nice. Love the lighting in here, your photos are beautiful. What kind of sandwich is that?

ReplyDeleteGorgeous photos! You're right, something about TtC or that beautiful little 20mm lens just makes a photo pop. PS, I have a zoom MFT lens in the office if you want to give it a try soon.
