a cold night and hotdogs
Back in the day, you know, the long ago days when I walked to school.
In the snow.
Up hill.
Both ways.
Hot dogs were simple.
Some onions, mustard, katsup and for the crazies living on the edge, relish.
Well Cincinnati your hotdog has gone upscale. Introducing Senate, the hotdog stand that got a make-over and bought a sophisticated loft in The Q. That plain old hotdog will never again be the same. Gourmet street food has hit the big time and apeared on the scene at Senate, with a wood fired grill, the dogs are grilled, the buns toasted for the descriminating tastes.
Along with a nice selection of micro beers and wines, you can't go wrong. And the bonus to being the hippest trendy dog shop? You're in the Q, the hippest trendy neighborhood in the city.
The place was slammed when we arrived, but less than 20 minutes later we scored a cozy table. While everyone has seperate tables, the long bench seat almost puts me in mind of Take the Cake's comunity tables and sure enough we were seated by some downtowners we knew and chatted a little until they left.
4 plain hotdogs
Alright, I was going to wait until the hype calmed down a little but that's it... I'm going there as soon as possible. It's not even 8:30 am and I want to eat that hotdog.
ReplyDeleteThose duck fat fries are haunting me. Got there at 1am on Friday night and the place was still crowded. I guess Cincinnatians were craving a place like Senate for some time.
ReplyDeleteMenu price range?
ReplyDeleteYou didn't see any highchairs by any chance, did you?
Looks fabulous.
A highchair?
ReplyDeleteForget it, a hotdog pop and lobster mac&cheese is gonna set you back $20+ just for the rugrat.
