In one fell swoop the Republicans have rendered the Democrats irrelevant

You want someone outside of Washington politics as usual? I don’t think it’s an old rich white guy who’s been in Washington for 35yrs! Can’t get farther from Washington politics than Alaska. If you do press the fact that Biden is an outsider, it would explain the fact he's accomplished nothing while in office except for not embarrassing himself.

You want experience? Say what you want, Palin is the only one of the four candidates who's actually run anything. Senators talk for a living, governors make trains run on time, if you will.

Experience. BAH! Bush had four years experience as a President before he started his second term. How do you rate that?

Hillary’s supporters aren’t happy with Obama, here’s their candidate.

Palin fought corruption and business as usual, stood up to big oil. She's an executive, smart, tough, principled, and very decent. People (or the media) put much weight on approval ratings these days, Palin's ratings are off the chart.

Palin is an old school fiscal conservative, exactly what is needed right now with Pelosi and her Democrats spending our money like drunken sailors in port for the weekend.

Micheal Moore always complained that the Republicans don't send their own children to war. Guess what, McCain and Palin both have sons in Iraq (McCain's son may be in Afghanistan, can't remember).

Shes fired a machine gun, how cool is that?

You want change? Republicans got change BABY!

We can do it!

I walked to Park+Vine for a Sigg, the queen mother of all water bottles.
The new mural (at the time) on the Barlow Bldg looked incredible, the kids from ArtWorks did an awesome job on it.
And the view from Enzo's, no SCPA!

you can't judge a book by its cover. but the cover suckers me every time!

Cigars

PERDOMO LOT 23® is named after one of Tabacalera Perdomo's prestigious farms located near its factory in Esteli, Nicaragua. The blend is a combination of exquisite filler and binder tobaccos grown exclusively on the Lot 23® farm. After harvesting the tobacco and aging it in bale for four years, the cigars were rolled and aged in one of Perdomo's large aging rooms for another six months before being sent to their office in Miami for distribution.

Bullpucky?
This stuff was most likely picked last Monday, rolled and shipped straight to me.
I can never help myself.

where else you gonna eat at midnight

Sure Shanghai Mama'sis good at 1am, but I loooooove eating it cold the next day for breakfast.

Shanghi Mama's

can't get too much more casual than this, at least with food of this quality, I'm amazed at the cross section of people rolling in, a little bit of everyone. Mark was slaying us all night.

Shanghi Mama'sShanghi Mama's

I always have to stop and push it away, its so good I can't stop, the tug of wanting to finish it off and save some for breakfast. Which pull is stronger tonight? The angel on the right shoulder won out and I pushed it back.

Brew Haha

Anyone else hit this up?
They got a little greedier this year over last, $5 for a wrist band and then you hand to purchase tickets after that.
And I swear the samples were smaller.
But bonus time, right around wicked-thirty I ran into Michelle and Kevin from My Wine Education and enjoyed some beer/wine/food conversation as we drank.
One word really jumped out as Michelle described one of the beers she liked.
bananas!
wft?
yeah, thats what I thought until the end of the night and I had tried all the interesting beers and it was the only one left, yep the Hocking Hills HefeWeizen.
I was shocked to find, at least to my malt addled mind that it was good.
Sweet and bananas.
crazy!

Not living downtown is for suckers

Remember growing up the one family in the neighborhood with a pool would throw a huge party for everyone?
Yeah me either, I don't remember anyone in my neighborhood with a pool.
Just makes this pool at the Gramercy even more special, I'm still amazed that it exists right downtown.
Incredible.
Saw all the usual suspects and met a few new ones.
And drank way too much beer.

Everyone's Famous! Blogger-Bash

“On the web, everyone will be famous for fifteen people.”
-Some blogger (David Weinberger)

Cincinnati's blogging scene is one of the most lively and diverse in the US. Now, some of the most visible bloggers in the 513 (and 859) are coming together for the most connected party of them all: Everyone's Famous! Blogger Bash 2008.

On September 10, bloggers from across the Greater Cincinnati area will gather at downtown's pop culture epicenter, AVS Art Gallery, to meet, mingle, and try to communicate without hyperlinks for a few hours. From food and wine enthusiasts to the urbanist crowd and the green bunch, all will congregate to bring their online rapport and banter into “meatspace”. And oh yes, it will be blogged.

Nada outdoors

What could possibly be better than Nada?
Nada outside, as usual the 5chw4r7z gets shown straight to a table, no waits.
Those stories I keep telling of the shootings at Walnut and 6th are paying off big time.
We hate to leave and eat as slow as we can, the food at Nada is incredible and so is the scenery, almost doesn't feel like we were sitting downtown.
I keep thinking, as we eat, I can actually taste individual waves of flavor wash through my mouth. If we had the $$ we'd eat there every night.
