Walking in Lower Price Hill I came around a corner and was floored by the Oyler Community Learning Center. They don't do buildings like this anymore. Everywhere I would look another detail would reveal itself. The Oyler K-12 school has an interesting story too. A learning center isn't just a school, it also houses a health center including vision and dental. In addition to physical health the school also supports academic health through its mentoring programs as well as programs that incorporate learning through arts and athletics. I've heard the program is so well respected NYC wants to use it as a model in some of its under-performing schools and Chicago has taken notice also.
