nei pesci ci fidiamo: St. Therese Little Flower

St. Therese Little Flower was the last church fish fry of the season and it was probably my favorite so far, with a few caveats. But more of that later, there were no lines which had me worried for a minute but I'm guessing that will happen at a smaller parish, and the weather was incredible which might have kept people outside.
The fish was the crispiest and tastiest so far. The steak fries were also very good, coated and crunchy. The cole slaw is nontraditional, but in a good way and I liked the touch of pepper they added.
Now for the downside, the servings were small, four steak fries? I know these fish fries are fund raisers but come on. But I shouldn't complain, I'll take a little quality over generous portions of mediocracy any day.
St. Therese ended at 4 out of 5 fish with the portions holding them back.

  1. We did Little Flower last week. It was ok, but far from our favorite (That still goes to St. Cecelia in Oakley). Our biggest complaint was the acoustics in the cafeteria. We could barely hear ourselves think, let alone carry a decent conversation. We like the family atmosphere and the typical kids running around, but the noise that night was nearly unbearable. Other than that, it was not bad....just not great. 3 fish out of 5. :-)
