the most Minumental art show in Cincinnati
The Art Academy of Cincinnati last Friday hosted the The 24th Annual Minumental Exhibition to showcase art that measures less than 2" x 2" and ranges in price from reasonable to not so reasonable. I'd say 95% was relatively inexpensive, a good place to start an art collection on a budget. They claim its one of the longest continually running art exhibits in the Greater Cincinnati Area and they've displayed over 7,000 works. We managed to grab a few cool pieces before they all sold out, I felt bad for the couple behind us , the girl had her hopes up for a particular piece and her body language walking out suggested she didn't get it.
I really wanted a couple of these marionettes, a couple of them reminded me of A Nightmare Before Christmas
Someone bought this entire set,I wonder what it all went for.

Thanks for coming, actually there are two strategies for buying at the show, go early get in line to hopefully snag your faves and/or go after the opening and take your time and choose from what did not sell at opening, there are still a fair amount to choose from.
ReplyDeleteI wish I would have jumped in the line right away, no matter how long it was. Next year I'll have Ms. 5chw4r7z stand in line while I look and then switch.
ReplyDeleteThat is my strategy, but stop by again, there are still lots to choose from. If you come by after hours you can leave your buy sheet for Denise and she will call you during the day to finish the deal.
ReplyDeleteActually we ended up buying 4 pieces Friday. We're pretty happy with what we got, but we'll swing by again and see whats left.
