Republic Street
A couple years ago we were standing on Republic St and I was admiring the trees as I looked up and down and I said, "man this is going to be amazing when it is built out with condos and apartments." Well guess what, Republic has arrived. Its interesting because everyone has always loved Orchid St, now Republic joins them and add in Mercer when it matures in a year and suddenly all the side streets in OTR are becoming a thing.
Victor Athletics Club held their grand opening Saturday night. They'll be selling Noble Denim jeans and on special occasions they will be making custom jeans in house. Their goal: to sell organic, vintage-inspired athletic wear made by small town USA factories.
Frameri, the OTR based frame and lens maker also had a grand opening for their Holiday popup in the old Reser Bicycle space on Vine St. Frameri, if you didn't know sells Italian made frames with interchangeable lens. I have a pair of progressive lens from Frameri that I swap between 4 different frames. These guys are swinging for the fences so if you're in the market for new glasses check them out.
Andy, always spot on.
Getting back to Republic we finished off the night at Low Spark. It was relatively empty for OTR on a rainy Saturday night, but I bet that doesn't last. When you leave make sure to look up and chuckle over the Repubic street sign at the corner.
