luxury electronics returns downtown

Luxury electronics maker Bang & Olufsen will soon be opening at 6 West 4th St in the old Bankhardt's space. Called Bang & Olufsen Fountain Square they will be the first Bang & Olufsen franchise to not use the Bang & Olufsen's modern template for store design. The drop ceiling in the old space was removed exposing an original and dramatic tin ceiling. The old entryway, if you remember was cramped and awkward. That too was removed and a modern facade installed. Bang & Olufsen Fountain Square, an independent licensed dealer of Bang & Olufsen products, plan to offer individual customer care and attention backed by the prestige and brand recognition of a worldwide company. Carlos Navarro and Per Bokmand wanted to take advantage of all the energy downtown in picking their 4th St location. They also loved the architecture of the building. Another advantage is the next nearest Bang & Olufsen location is Chicago so their audience will cover a huge area.
Carlos Navarro is an artist by trade and one of the other reason's he liked this location was its ability to display artwork. Both Carlos and Per want to be engaged with the community and plan on having quarterly gallery openings and hosting social events. Carlos also wants the space to feel welcoming and to pull people into the store who might not necessarily be Bang & Olufsen customers.
Bang & Olufsen Fountain Square plans a May 8th opening.
