Duke Energy Holiday Trains at the Museum Center
From the Museum center's website,
"The Duke Energy Holiday Trains began in 1946 in partnership with the Baltimore & Ohio (B&O) Railroad. The portable model train display at Duke Energy's headquarters grew, as the railroad grew, through the 1940s, '50s and into the '60s. In 2011, Duke Energy gifted the trains to Cincinnati Museum Center to ensure the trains and beautiful historic displays will stay in the Greater Cincinnati area for all of Duke Energy’s families, friends and customers to enjoy. The Duke Energy Train display's new permanent home is off of the Public Landing of the Cincinnati History Museum.
The exhibit opens today November 8th and runs through Jan. 5, 2014. Duke energy customers can get free tickets online HERE
The Museum Center has a display setup on a cart so visitors can get a close up look at how the trains are constructed. The locomotives and diesel engines, as well as all the rolling stock are made from either cast bronze or brass sheet.
