Taft’s Ale House is another brew pub announced for OTR. Because you can never have enough craft brewers within walking distance of your condo.
Obviously I don't have any after pictures yet but here are a few before pictures.
Its hard to get a grip on just how big this place is from the pictures, the space is massive. I wonder if any of these details will survive the remodel?
The church was formerly St. Paulus Kirche, the oldest surviving Protestant church in the city and the second oldest church in Cincinnati.

The Crafty Supermarket is an indie craft show that finally made its way to OTR and the Music Hall Ballroom after living in Clifton for a few years. We always manage to find the coolest Christmas gifts and this year was no different.
Random Snacks of Kindness are quickly selling out of their first run of snacks benefiting Artworks. Each snack contain a kindness note to help brighten the receivers day and to encourage kind acts. And the branding is awesome too, I love it.

Do you believe in beericles?
Because your excursions to The Party Source will never be the same.
Ei8htball Brewing has setup shop in the back of the Party Source beer section and they rounded up some of Cincinnati's beer rock stars including Mitch Dougherty a gold medal winning brewmaster and Peanut, formerly of Dilly Cafe.
Rolling in there the beer I was most interested in was K-Hole, a big bold Imperial Mocha Stout. The espresso that first hits your nose is incredible. I'm going to be drinking gallons of this stuff.
Won't be long until The Party Source has a whole having a good time monopoly. La Abeja cigars, their own Whiskey, and of course beer. Next summer is going to be more fun for sure.

While you're avoiding malls and big box stores and shopping local next Friday make sure to plan a stop in the Northside. On November 29th, Black Friday, CoSign will unveil nine new signs created as part of its creative placemaking project. The unveiling will begin at 12:00pm at Tantrum, 4183 Hamilton Avenue. Every 15 minutes, CoSign will unveil a new sign as they work their way down Hamilton Avenue.
CoSign was a six month project teaming business owners, designers and professional fabricators to create unique signs for the neighborhood. Spun is having a big sale on all 2013 stock and hopefully other businesses will have specials.
I have a couple teasers for you, the other seven you'll have to walk through the Northside and see for yourself.

Remember back in early 2012 when Duke Energy basically held the streetcar hostage for months trying extort money out of the city? They had two claims, one that they weren't responsible for the cost of moving their utilities and the second was that manholes had to be eight feet from the tracks.
Its interesting that since they have no chance of winning the suit they brought against the city and moving the utilities will be done on their dime that all the sudden its OK to have the manholes in between the tracks.
Just like they do in every other city.
Hat tip to Jake Mecklenborg for pointing this out.

The Metro hosted an open house in the transit center which considering you normally aren't allowed in there I was surprised more people didn't show up. I had been in the transit center before whenever someone would inadvertently leave a gate open. Always at high rates of speed on the bike with shouts of "you can't be in here" trailing off into the distance behind us.
So I knew all this cool tile work was down there, I just never had a closeup look at it until now.
Depending on what happens December 1 we could have light rail in here in 10 years, or 100 years. It all depends on city council now.

Finally a City Flea down in my hood. And in a museum, how cool is that? They mixed it up this time, with some higher end retailers I haven't seen before.
Starting off though, thanks to a series of unfortunate events we arrived hungry and craving coffee. Luckily Coffee Emporium represented but no pastry shops. Where is Brown Bear Bakery when I desperately needed them? Even with out Blair serving up baked goodness, we spent more today than ever and got a bunch of Christmas shopping done.
21c was slammed, glad to see the rain and a Bengals home game didn't keep anyone away although they probably don't have too much of a crossover audience.
