Final Friday July Edition
I rode a pure fixed bike for the first time at Reser OTR, it was an interesting experience. Number one as you know, there is no coasting on a fixed gear bike. Knowing this and experiencing it of course are two very different things. Every time you drop your guard, the pedals yank your legs and remind you. Once the shock and intensity of keeping my legs moving what I found fascinating was how quiet the bike was, stripped down as basic as a bike can get there was nothing to make noise but the chain gliding over the gears. I need to give one of these a spin somewhere besides a busy Vine St on Final Friday.
