the view from here
A trip to the top of Carew a couple weeks ago, you can see the Mehring Way relocation is almost complete, and the work on the Banks continues. I wonder if the naysayers are still saying they'll believe it when they see it?

I like the SCPA / Music Hall pic.
ReplyDeleteThese are great photos Bob! The Banks is really coming along nicely.
ReplyDeleteDamn Bob, your photography gets better and better with each post. The view from the Carew is just fantastic. I love how you can look down on FSQ and see all the colored umbrellas and people walking around down there.
ReplyDeleteI went to a documentary at Union Terminal on the Cincinnati Subway, after the showing the director took questions from the audience. Some guy, got on a tangent about how Cincinnati always "fails" and how he wanted to get a group together to change the square back, because in his opinion it was "horrible." The naysaysers like COAST and Smitherman really have nothing to say these days, one trip to the square no matter the time of year proves how much its transformed. The amount of activity and development that has spawned there in the past few years gives me great hope for The Banks.
Again, great photos. What program are you using to make those "miniature" tilt shift shots?
Thanks Gordon, that means a lot coming from you.
ReplyDeleteI run them through phototchop and hit them with some high saturation and it pops everything right out of the background.
I like that, the reconfigured square spurred almost $100 million in redevelopment in the surrounding area but its a failure.
The coasters are always opposed to anything that drives development and investment in the city, they're a thinly disguised group out to cripple the city. Why else would they support the casino that is going to cost the city $3 in social services for every dollar it takes in?
