Light Up the Square
The official opening of the holiday season downtown got off with a big bang Friday night. The largest crowd I can remember for a tree lighting the crowds spilled out into 5th and Vine St for the celebrations.

Wow! THAT many people, to see the tree light up? The lights aren't even cool lights!
ReplyDeleteDowntown sure is becoming somethin'...
I can't really disagree with you. They lit up the tree, OOUUU AWWWW then it was over.
ReplyDeleteBut people really want something to do and it beats the mall right?
Then we went and drank.
Gee wiz, I sure wish there was something to do downtown
ReplyDeleteBob, have you even seen the tree in Kenwood Towne Center? It's much nicer than this one and its warm in there. Why would you waste your time going downtown? Look how small the crowd is, remodeling Fountain Square was an awful idea. What a boondoggler.

Ronnie, some of the people that want to stop the streetcar also are demanding that the square be returned to the old configuration so they can see the Fountain from their car.
