MOERLEIN FIFTH & VINE OKTOBERFEST LAUNCH

MOERLEIN FIFTH & VINE OKTOBERFEST MARZEN TO KICK OFF THE OKTOBERFEST SEASON AT OTR ALE HAUS ON FINDLAY MARKET SQUARE
The Over-the-Rhine Foundation and the Brewery District Community Urban Redevelopment Corp. will co-host an event that opens the doors of the Moerlein OTR Ale Haus from Thursday, August 16th through Sunday the 19th , 2007.
Attendees can get an early start on Oktoberfest with a limited-edition, commemorative Moerlein Fifth & Vine Oktoberfest ceramic beer mug and T-Shirts.

If the Fifth & Vine Marzen is as good as the OTR Ale it will be some good stuff. Those wacky brewers, I need someone German to explain why you brew a beer in September and name it March.

UPDATE: My favorite beer snob, Janet, told me, "Due to the weather and lack of refrigeration the beers used to be brewed in March or April and stored over the summer to be served in the fall. Whoever developed this new style beer decided to name it Marzen since that is when it was brewed. "
