the 'Nomerati just completed redecorating her condo, and had a cat turning ten so she did what anyone would do.
throw a party.

Its all fun and games until a velociraptor storms the condo

Something that always amuses me to no end, it seems like six or seven times out of ten when a woman recognizes me, she gets excited, not because she is excited to meet me, she gets excited because I'm friends with Cincinnati Nomerati. No big deal really except I may be more well know for being a friend of the "Nomerati and Sid than anything else.

Cincinnati Travel, Sports & Boat Show

I'm not in the market for boats or trailers but sometimes its fun to window shop and see how the technology is changing. The boats are getting flashier. The campers still look cheap but with bump outs they look so big inside they remind me of the Weasley's tent because they don't look that large from the outside.

I need one of these to get back from OTR on Friday nights.

Wake boarding isn't even recognizable from when I was younger and gave it a shot.

The have an area for bikes! Now we're talking.

No cables on this bike, the shifting is all electronic.
I wonder what problem the were trying to solve because it seems like an answer to a question no one was asking.
Its still cool, but are you really ready to replace and recharge batteries so you can shift?

Maker Space at The Public Library of Cincinnati

Has anyone ever lamented the fact that there is no Netflix of 3D printers? They have? Awesome because now The Public Library of Cincinnati and Hamilton County has them covered with the library's new Maker Space.
What is a Maker Space you ask? Before last weekend I wouldn't have been able to tell you because I didn't know either. But now I can say that a Maker Space is a shared workspace where people create whatever they can dream up. Vinyl printers and cutters, laser cutters, 3D printers and many other amazing things.
The beauty of the space is you can try your hand at some of the newest technology without having to rent or buy it yourself. All that is required is you pay for whatever consumables are used for your project. The future is here people, get in on the ground floor and learn how to use this stuff.

Can you picture how this is all going to work?
I can and my head is exploding with possibilities.
I'll run you through a scenario real quick.
First design your project on powerful multimedia computers. Don't worry about the Russians stealing your ideas, these are not connected to the internets.

next you'll print your bumper stickers (for example) on the vinyl printer/cutter.

You'll create fantastic Easter Eggs or Christmas ornaments, or golf balls or anything else that is round-ish.

Then you'll take your creation to the photobooth and use the library's pro level camera to take an ad worthy picture.

Pretty crazy right? The button makers were popular with the kids but I already have ideas for what I can do with them.

I have one more thought for you to ponder. The maker revolution may turn out like the web revolution. The people making the money could be the ones selling the digital designs to create the 3D objects, not the actual people creating 3D objects.
Live and learn.
But that shouldn't stop you from striking while the iron is hot and creating everything you can dream up.

Walk on Woodburn

OTR has been white hot for a couple years at least. The Northside has been simmering forever. But if you wanted to bet on the next neighborhood to hit a rolling boil it would be hard to bet against Walnut Hills.
This past Walk on Woodburn highlights just how far the neighborhood has come. Just last year we would take a quick lap around all the shops and galleries on Woodburn and then jump in the car and head to the next neighborhood to hangout, there didn't seem to be much reason to hang around.
Friday however there was none of that! We had trouble deciding which new bar to go in Walnut Hills, we never did really decide so we just hit all of them.

I'm trying to decide if I can pull this jacket off. i figured I'd go back to Hi-Bred next Saturday and if it is still there I'll take it as a sign. If you have any reservations speak now or forever hold your peace.

Thirty beers on tap at the Growler House so you'll be able to find a beer you love. But have you ever had option paralysis? Sometimes I wish bars only carried one beer and I'd never have to worry about buyers remorse. Well, the Growler House has solved that problem with a 30 sided die.
