Bodies in Urban Spaces

Just when you think the weekend was the craziest weekend you've ever had, Sunday throws more crazy at you. Austrian choreographer Willi Dorner worked with Cincinnati area dancers to set up a chain of physical interventions only existing temporarily, allowing the viewer to perceive the same space or place in a new and different way. It was interesting watching the reactions of the people following along in the know, and the people along the way who had no idea what was happening.
The Contemporary Art Center is always doing something incredible downtown, it makes for a magical place to be.
Dorner calls it "physical interventions" but to me its graffiti, whether its paint, wheat paste or yarn bombing this type of art boils down to having a conversation between the artist, the urban environment and the viewer. The dancers only difference is its lifespan.
