Red Roost Tavern

For awhile now OTR has been gotting all the cool bars and restaurants. But that is slowly changing, first Igby's opened, the Metropole at 21c and Sotto. Now to continue on that trend The Red Roost Tavern has opened inside the Hyatt on 5th and Elm downtown. I know, you're probably thinking the same thing I was, a bland hotel chain restaurant created just because its expected. And then I thought the Metropole at 21c, it definitely breaks the hotel restaurant mold.
If you think bars and restaurants have hit the limit for dramatics wait till you see Red Roost Tavern, in a way its a shame its hidden inside a hotel, but luckily the decor pulls you farther and farther in and by time you step inside all you have left is a dazed smile trying to take it in.

Red Roost Tavern has to be considered among the top rung of Cincinnati restaurants, both in taste, quality and presentation. You know I'm a picky eater and everything I ate nailed it, texture and taste. The smoked tomato jam in the sweetcorn soup was amazing.

Executive Chef Bernard Foster sous chef, Karol Osinksi explained the reasoning behind and the process of selecting ingredients for the menu items. The food is locally soured as much as possible. I think the local food thing might be played out, but i couldn't agrue with the quality of any single item. many of the meats and vegetables, actually all of them were bought directly from suppliers (farmers) to insure freshness.
