I'm slowly slowly broadening my horizons in the food realm.
The other night a group of my favorite deipnosophists joined up for a evenimg of degustation at Enoteca Emilia.
(someone has been thumbing through the dictionary)
A selection of small dishes, the portions were small, the flavors the size of a Roman coliseum. So even though there were one or two things floating around I wouldn't have normally eaten everything tasted so good it was easy to break out of my rut.
A cozy intimate feeling place that had enough space between tables that you almost forget you're not the only people in the place, unlike some places where you're rubbing elbows with people at other tables.
It was so relaxing no one wanted to be the first one to get up and we sat around talking maybe longer than we should have.
One caveat, you knew there had to be one. Enoteca Emilia is expensive, but amazingly, the food is so incredible you don't feel like you're over paying for it.
