Five Points Alley popup biergarten

This past Sunday was not only the monthly (May-Sept) pop-up biergarten but also the ground breaking for a brand new park. This activated space was once a dumping ground but has now become a spark that is helping revitalize a neighborhood. I still remember one Sunday afternoon in September '13 drinking beer and talking to a couple young women from Hyde Park. Suddenly one exclaimed "I want to move here!" I said at the time they mostly likely wouldn't move, but that the comment was a beginning, because they would be telling everyone who would listen how cool Walnut Hills is. The evolution of the Five Points Alley space has been interesting to witness the last three years, from people sitting on five gallon buckets to the beginnings of a brand new park.
Walnut Hills Redevelopment Foundation has received $200,000 from Proctor & Gamble, The Haile Foundation and City of Cincinnati to create the park. WHRF hopes the space continues to spur growth and development around it and that those business owners begin to program and utilize the space in creative ways.
Jay from BLDG has been painting a mural in each alley.
