Good things are cheap ~ Japanese proverb
I've managed to lose or throw out just about everything from my childhood, except this bike. Maybe because I worked so hard to earn the money for it I was always loath to part with it. Its collected dust for a couple decades but I finally decided to convert it into track bike and get it rolling again. Right now its massively over geared, it takes three good strokes to get rolling then it takes off like a scalded house cat. I need to recalibrate my brain when I'm on it.
Its a heady feeling, exactly like when I was 14 and rode it the first time.

I ride a bike for utility these days so I need gears, but, even at it's most drudgerous, it's still $*%#@! fun.
ReplyDeleteI have one of those bikes too. I need all the gears possible to get up Vine St hill in the morning.
ReplyDeleteIs it sans extra gears?
ReplyDeleteIts sans sans.
ReplyDeleteShe popped a tweet out this morning that got me all pissed off.
Too bad you weren't here for a rampage.
Monday.
That's a sweet vintage ride, but I'm more impressed by the balancing act in that can of Bitter American. They started carrying it at City Cellars ;)
ReplyDeleteI'm pretty sure that's where I bought it at.
