none of us are as dumb as all of us

Ms. 5chw4r7z interviewed on Fox19 news 'splainin how regular people can find value in twitter.
usually when the news media, TV or print begins reporting a cultural phenomenon its jumped the shark and all over. But I think this twitter thingy has some staying power, so I'll give them props for trying to get in on the act. But still i find it amusing sometimes media trying to explain to their target audience the significance of an online tool.
Or as Jacki said "ZOMG IT'S NOT JUST CAT LADIES IN THEIR MOMS' BASEMENTS WHO USE THE INTERNET! WHO FUCKING KNEW?!"

But in the end I though it was a good piece and Ms. 5chw4r7z did a really good job.

UPDATE: Thinking about it on the way into work this morning maybe I came off too negative. Fox19 seems to aim at a younger audience than the other guys, and the Fox people do use their twitter accounts realativly more so this story does make sense for them. If people think twitter is only about the 5chw4r7z eating a Big N Tasty on Friday, well maybe watching this they can find some value in it for themselves.
Raise your hand everyone who like Feoshia felt you already knew Ms. 5chw4r7z.

Park+Vine in the Next American City

While I go on and on about how Park+Vine is everything that is right and that i love about downtown Cincinnati, locally owned businesses whose owners are invested in the community.
Sometimes I felt that Dan has been our little secret.
Well, no more, the awesome that Dan has created in Park+Vine can no longer be contained by the Q and has broke loose nationwide. The Next American City has a couple page story on Dan, the store and his comings and goings on a typical day.
Spoiler alert, it contains a lot of bike riding.
A lot!

And creating a stir on twitter yesterday, reports of Dan's bike stolen. I hope its a hoax, but if its not, I hope there's a special hell for whoever swiped it.
UPDATE: Talked to Dan and they found his bike. YAY![where:12th & Vine cincinnati, ohio 45202]best place to learn how to live downtown cincinnati ohio

church member kills gunman, not police or security guard

This gives the guys on the other side of argument some good ammo. If someone has the frame of mind to reason that while committing a crime anyone could drop them with a few shots, maybe we’d have less crime. For those others without reason, well a few well placed shots would drop them too. Let’s start requiring everyone to carry a handgun when they turn 21.
The press covers it up for what ever reasons but People don't stop killers. People with guns do

Friends II

UsaToday had a story last Friday about the crisis in the market presenting many opportunities for profit. But the part of the story that had me laughing out loud was a Japanese haiku about crisis.

Their hair is on fire
Yet they run around the lake.
Quick! Take their wallets!

Oh Man, sounds more like America.

And in relation to my friends post last week. A friend back in Youngstown who’s a stockbroker set us up before we left town and the stuff he's picked out for us has been largely unaffected by the recent volatility.
Never. Ever. burn a bridge!
friends,friends,friends.

Been getting some blog love from new and old blog friends also, Jackie, BuyCincy and PHSChemGuy

Padre's home run

Padre's home run
Cincinnati Enquirer
Some of the high ranking members of the swimming pool illuminati went to the game last Friday and tried to catch a home run. Unwilling to lose a freshly purchased brat the ball bounced around until it was sat on and then tossed back. Seems like overkill throwing back a Padres homerun, but there you go.
