I always called this street artist the waffle guy because of the stuff he was doing, square boxes with grouped circles inside that looked, to me at least like waffles. So it wasn't until I saw the second of these wheat paste athletes that I realized this was the same guy.
Its interesting how he placed them in spots where previous graffiti has already been buffed, I always liked the unintended art that censorship creates.

Where are these?
ReplyDeleteMain St, but I'm sure there's probably a few more spread around.
ReplyDeletethis guy again? he pissed off a lot of people with those stupid waffle things. coffee emporium was going after him (he's really easy to find online under a couple names) after he did one on their building. not sure what came of it.
ReplyDeleteMost of his stuff crosses the line from art to just graffiti.
ReplyDeleteThank you so much for your blog on my work 5chw4r7z, (I'm also thrilled that you're on the "Home Sweet Home board". My aesthetic with my squares were about a meaning for more, I started them with the purpose to add to the composition over time as I continue to progress as a person and as an artist. I have a belief in this composition as something that is never ending and literally a composition that I could use in a multitude of ways. I'm from this city and have great pride in the area. I am mos def aware of the thoughts and feelings of my work over the past year or so and I intend to add to my squares in time. They will become more divine, and hopefully show a more definite approach to the art community. Wheat-pasting is my primary focus for the near future, its final and concrete looking and comes off over time. I've also been doing a multitude of writings (brain vomit) for poetry is a large interest of mine. I understand I have upset a lot of people, mainly Urban Sites because I've done a lot of work on their buildings in the past but I assure you this was unintentional; Urban Sites just owns the large majority of properties in OTR so it would just be silly to exclude them from my canvas. I love the culture in OTR and I plan to make my mark as a street artist rather than a tagger in which I've been trying to do for the past year. I love all of you Cincinnatians, and hope to create visuals that will please the masses and myself as a whole. - Yeti
