  2. And that right there is exactly why people do not like cyclists!! 58 seconds, runs the red light, one car stops, the other one just about barrels into the guy. I'm all for bikers and shit sharing the roads if they follow the laws too... People shouldn't have to freak out about hitting someone...

  4. Amen Rachel.

This is NOT amusing. If you or somebody you know was ever killed from somebody running a red light, not fun. And indeed, why cyclists will not garner respect if they think they are above the law and traffic lights.

Worst thing I've seen filmed. No offense.

But I've known folks killed in traffic accidents or crippled...so, color me unamused. :(

    Wow. So ignorant.

  7. Car drivers hate everyone and everything that adds a millisecond to their commute.
What a car driver may or may not like will never influence a post on this blog.

  8. You do still drive a car, Bob-- how would you like it if someone on a bike ran a red light and you hit them? That would certainly add more than a millisecond to your car trip, and affect both your life and the biker's life forever.

We will never have a 100% car-free culture, so bikers and drivers need to get along. Car drivers need to respect bike riders (let's not tailgate bikes, for example, or cut them off or deliberately hit them...) and bike riders need to respect the rules of the road as well in order for everyone to get along. Blowing through red lights, cutting off cars and generally being jerky isn't really great for bike PR.

  9. Being a cyclist in Cincinnati SUCKS, we are not respected, cars do not share the road like they should.. but this doesn't give any cyclist the right to blatantly ignore traffic laws. running lights, cutting cars off, etc..
cyclists need to obey the SAME rules as car drivers..
I am a huge car fan, and a huge cycling fan as well.. but I do stand with that's with and what's against the law..
I learned this lesson the hard way, getting your sleeve caught in a car's mirror is NOT fun..
