Lackman Bar first look
They didn't have a full tap service or a full compliment of wines, just enough to wet the whistle.
And I was told the very reasonable drink prices were for Sunday only so I guess the beers will be in the OH$h!t$ Senate range.
UPDATE: The Lackman Bar Opens Friday, September 24th located at 1237 Vine St. (corner of 13th and Vine) They will include a full bar and offer a diverse beer selection including 14 beers on tap and over 30 bottled beers covering microbrews, imports and domestics. I'm noticing the lack of mention of wines or cocktails. Interesting.

It looks like a comfortable, intimate space. Given your comment about prices, what can we expect? The drinks at Senate are amazing, but each is the price of an inexpensive meal [elsewhere, of course], so your comment is a bit disheartening!
ReplyDeleteMy beer was $3 and I said wow that's pretty good. And you know the rest of the story from there.
ReplyDeletemaybe someone in the know can weight in on drink selection and prices?
I checked the place out too at halftime of the Bengal's game. Loved the interior space including the finishes and the coordination of the back bar with the leather banquette.
ReplyDeleteMy beer I thought was $2.00. I overheard that they just got a couple kegs for the preview. (Maybe they were trying to get rid of it.) Then they will close for a few days to prepare for the real opening this weekend.
Yeah my beer was also $2.00. I would assume that prices will be the same as Righteous Room. (That's me in the Red's hat and Bengals jersey in the 5th picture)
ReplyDeleteRighteous isnt that bad for a pint IMO. As long as they have the same 1/2 price happy hour I'm sold.
ReplyDeleteWould be sad if they went all fancy-pants price on us. Considering the bar was marketed as "a neighborhood hangout". I don't know many who hang out at Senate...
Hey just wanted to post some info on beer and cocktail prices. We are keeping it neighborhood friendly and our prices are much less than The Righteous Room's. Instead of doing 1/2 priced happy hour we have a ton of different specials on craft beer, cocktails etc. etc. Our beer prices are all over the map since we have different craft varieties that have different levels of alcohol and our cost to get them varies as well depending on the beer. Stop on in and I can assure you that you will think the prices are fair for the type of spot we want to be.
ReplyDeleteOH yeah Robert I've been there 4 times now, my fav, Ithaca's FlowerPower is a respectable $4.50.
ReplyDeleteBOOYAA!
