i scream

You know I'm always talking about the story. People whether they consciously think about it or not want to do things they can tell a story about. The food truck, the quaint little shop in the Q, the Fever-Tree ginger beer you can only get at Dilly.
What?
It can't only be me? Oh well, whatevas, I love Jeni's Ice Creams in Cbus and last weekend was no exception. One of the first perfect days of spring so how do you top that except with an ice cream cone?

Please let this wholesome good looking person be Jeni! Please?
If, as I suspect she's just a model, don't ruin it for me.
This is how I always want to remember Jeni.

What the hell is wrong with 4% of you people?
And why are the two blog reviews both Cincinnati blogs?

when I was young I knew everything

I can just barely remember to how it felt to be 18.
Everything brand new, fresh and raw, and how it meant every little thing was life or death and no one had ever experienced that before.
Somewhere along the line you lose that, you relax and you never recapture that buzz, that high you had from doing. Doing anything and everything.
Well enough rambling from an old man.
Happy Birthday monkeegrl.

urban Hieroglyphics

underground architecture, unseen landscapes.
No one ever thinks about whats down there let alone the amount of stuff downthere.
What would Superman see if he were to peer down into this labyrinth? I think I got a sense of this subterranean vastness Sunday morning following these marks. I have no idea what they mean, I can only guess, but a sense of where they lead to can be deciphered, scratching the surface of the intents of the markers at least.

5chw4r7z picture policy

Thank you everyone, the feedback on my pictures, especialy since I've aquired the new camera has been incredible.
So, I love that people enjoy my pictures so much but the requests to use them have been overwhelming.
I think it would be best to put all the permission info in one post.

Non-professional bloggers and Cincinnati area non-profits are free to use my pics for their blogs as long as they credit 5chw4r7z.com and provide a link back to my blog below every picture.
Commercial entities, such as newspapers and magazines need to contact me to discuss permission logistics.
Hopefully this will make it easier for everyone.
Thanks again for reading and enjoying my blog.

The Lions Rampant

Final Friday

The ballet?
The beerfest?
The ballet and the beerfest? Could be, there was way too much stuff going on in Cincinnati and maybe Final Friday suffered a little, wasn't hopping and popping like it usually does. Didn't stop us from having a good time, just had to work a little harder for it.
One last fish sandwich for Lent.

There's always Lavo for a few drinks and going back over some of the more interesting things we'd seen that evening. That and guaranteed a dozen people you know will come through for a drink sooner or later.

Parker Flats Friday

YAY! Finally that time of year again, Parker Flats means nothing if not the great outdoors. Throwing open the city door, drinking espresso's and reading the paper on a sunny afternoon.

that burger was Oh Em Gee

You know after Cafe de Wheels, which we've hit a number of times I got to wondering. Was this the best burger in Cincinnati?
I don't know.
One way to find out. We must trek out to Terry's Turf Club, haven't been foreva and only one way to find out is to try it out again.

Terry's Turf Club

Its probably been a year since I've been here, is it my imagination he's added stuff, or was all this crap always there?
Looks like a flea market had sex with a grandma's house on the east side of Youngstown and gave birth to this.

At least the burgers were still off the charts good. Packed together just enough so they don't fall apart, I have to say, Terry's is still the Cincinnati king of burgers.

The Wild Bunch

The latest movie we checked out with Watch This. After Pulp Fiction, The Wild Bunch has been the movie I had been wanting to see. I talked about it so much I was worried I was getting everyones expectations too high.
Billed as the most graphic and violent movie up til then, 1969 it is realitivly tame by todays standards but they didn't waste time getting to the first shootout, without introducing any of the characters the first bloddy shootout begins, we don't know who's a good guy and who's bad but it really doesn't matter becasue as the movie progresses none of the people in this movie are particularly likable. I guess thats too keep you from feeling bad for anyone as they never make it to the end without getting shot.

So along with getting shot theres a bunch of shouting and a bunch of laughing, but it was the forced laugh of someone who already knows they're dead and are just putting on a brave face until they meet their ugly demise. When they loot the browning machine gun you know whats coming as the tension grows until it erupts into a organsim of gunfire that seemingly last forever leaving no one alive. Seriously, everyone including the women die.
I've always maintaned a good movie requires a shootout, a car chase and bare boobs. Well if you count horses chasing a train this movie delivered.
just don't expect to like anyone.
