Mottainai Lofts

The Gateway Quarter threw open its doors, literally last week, these lofts were incredible, I wasn't exactly having condo envy because nothing is going to match up to Parker Flats but these would be a close second. Ikea kitchens and Rookwood tiles in the kitchen and baths.

  1. I love the concept behind Mottainai, but that bathroom backsplash/mirror combo is an 1980s disaster of epic proportions.

  3. Awesome idea, a disaster in execution!
Its not terrible from the bathroom side, but the other side offers no context, its just there!
If it had been above one of the fireplaces, or framed by cabinets...I don't know how you would make that work.

  4. The cabinets are not Ikea - but by a local kitchen design business called Cooknee, that sells a cabinet line similar called Sammy's Kitchens out of Hong Kong.
