can we call it Fountain Square's newest Mynt'ed martini bar?

Fountain Square and downtown have been going strength to strength lately and Mynt Martini is no exception. The newest bars keep upping the ante and last week a bunch of us put forth the proposition, has downtown hit a saturation point for new bars?
I THINK NOT
Not when they're minting new ones like this, wild open, comfy and some crazy drinks.
The excitement starts just walking up.

We're twittering away, and who do we see on twittering away at the bar? tstewart2, how crazy is that? But before she can duck out a back door we spot her and drag her back in.

My one complaint may be the lack of manly drinks, the martinis were all fruity, might fall back to beer, who knows.

I got nothing, what ever it was, I was staying out of it?

It was early and quiet, I don't expect them to have much free time standing around once everyone finds out about this cool little place.

And its all steps away from the lady in the fountain, it can't get any better than that.
Which gets me thinking, remember a few years ago, the CAVE* men calling the Fountain Square renovations a boondoggle? It would never bring anyone downtown they said, it was impracticable, unusable, once the newness wore off it would be barren? And now the square is fully built out with hours long waits to get on the ice rink.
Time and time again we see how people sitting out in Anderson Twnshp know nothing about the city or how people consume it.

we tried driving straight home. but couldn't. thats the way the stomach rumbles.

Yeah, so OK we're not even going to pretend that we're driving straight home from my parents anymore. It just ain't happening. It doesn't help that except for a few traffic lights, Jeni's Ice Creams isn't even out of the way.

I don't know why but I half expected to see Jean-François Taste of Belgium waffles there, he has them everywhere else in the world. A waffle with Honey Vanilla Bean or Bourbon Buttered Pecan or Saigon Cinnamon? Why my sweet tooth is aching just trying to wrap my head around the possibilities.
Unfortunately the apple cider sorbet is long gone, but some intersting flavors have taken their place. Now, how to decide, how to decide.

You can't be grumpy or sad or mad eating an ice cream cone, it physically and metaphysically impossible.

I (still) believe in Father Christmas

...the message there is that faith in something that is not true, as long as it is faith in goodness, is worth the huge cover-up, while disbelieving leads to all types of evil behavior such as scooping pennies off the poor, scaring little children, and being a general stick in the mud.

I love this stuff, Ms.5chw4r7z has boxes (and not small ones either) of old pictures. It always feels like a treasure hunt going through them. One thing young kids will get to experience less and less in the future, that thrill of digging through yellowed old pictures.
Or maybe they won't even care and its something only I get a kick out of, but I don't think so.

It's almost Christmas. You're procrastinating, and they're short presents. You're at the mall. Bad things are about to go down.

This season is ending in a flurry of panicked stress, option paralysis and Christmas shopping.
Desperate times call for desperate measures, measures like going to the mall. Four days before Christmas, what the hell was I thinking waiting this long?

It truly was a frighting experience. Do you seriously want me to believe that you'll go to the mall, but you're afraid to go downtown? The panhandlers downtown have nothing NOTHING on the people working the kiosks. they held up just short of pulling a gun on me. Every single one I passed was more aggressive than the last.

Escaping that craziness we sought refuge in Dewey's located conveniently across the street. And the craziest thing is we met Jamie, who I swapped a couple emails with but had never met.

Then we got down to some serious drinking to forget the whole mall thing.
