I'll be posting my completely unscientific findings this week. At least they won't be a wild guess.<br />I will tell you this, 50% of the people who took the survey and rode the streetcar do not live downtown or OTR.5chw4r7zhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/00635910297238841220noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5174432287932211168.post-14985653210438433052016-10-02T18:41:16.347-04:002016-10-02T18:41:16.347-04:00> "Even if we lowball the guesstimate at $...> "Even if we lowball the guesstimate at $5 that would be $600,000 that has been spent within walking distance of the streetcar. The streetcar really is a game changer."<br /><br />You're making a massive assumption here that I don't necessarily think is correct (though I am a supporter of the streetcar). I think it's unreasonable assumption that these transactions wouldn't have happened if people were walking around OTR. Really the number we're interested in is the difference in what they're spending now vs before.Anonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08589557334337504537noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5174432287932211168.post-31435461933697032122016-09-30T14:38:33.824-04:002016-09-30T14:38:33.824-04:00I've wondered how they are handling the extra ...I've wondered how they are handling the extra traffic. I can't imagine the few empty store fronts stay empty very long. I know the Market has wanted a coffee shop to open forever, this might do it.5chw4r7zhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/00635910297238841220noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5174432287932211168.post-72768967237081253302016-09-30T14:25:30.718-04:002016-09-30T14:25:30.718-04:00Since the streetcar has opened I've used it as...Since the streetcar has opened I've used it as an excuse to go to Findlay Market for lunch once or twice a week. Previously it would've been way too far of a walk from my office. I'm sure the vendors there are loving the extra foot traffic, and I hope they can start staying open later to cater towards the extra people in the evenings.Travis Estellhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/02707965541974281483noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5174432287932211168.post-47413121585673990872016-09-30T13:37:45.241-04:002016-09-30T13:37:45.241-04:00see a pattern here? weekends = shopping.....riders...see a pattern here? weekends = shopping.....ridership goes up - and this without new stores/restaurants opening which will happen soon enough!cotterpinhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/02059852195087754470noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5174432287932211168.post-60462568368830139522016-09-30T12:08:24.859-04:002016-09-30T12:08:24.859-04:00There will always be detractors – to everything.

I also think the streetcar's real success will be achieved once future spurs are actually put in the ground (this needs to be Clifton, Wasson, Price Hill, both airports, and beyond).Matthttps://www.blogger.com/profile/01891803494450719808noreply@blogger.com
